Testing & Verification
Service Health Checks
# All services healthy docker compose ps # Health endpoint curl http://localhost:8000/health # Returns: {"status":"healthy","version":"0.1.0","timestamp":...} # Readiness endpoint curl http://localhost:8000/ready # Returns: {"status":"ready","checks":{"postgres":true,"redis":true,"qdrant":true},...}
Database Verification
# List tables docker compose exec postgres psql -U voiceassist -d voiceassist -c "\dt" # Returns: alembic_version, messages, sessions, users # List extensions docker compose exec postgres psql -U voiceassist -d voiceassist -c "\dx" # Returns: pg_trgm, plpgsql, uuid-ossp, vector
Migration Status
# Check migration status docker compose exec voiceassist-server alembic current # Returns: 001 (head)
Issues Encountered & Resolutions
Issue 1: Qdrant Health Check Failure
Problem: Qdrant health check failing with curl/wget Root Cause: curl/wget not available in Qdrant container Solution: Changed to bash TCP connection test
test: ["CMD-SHELL", "timeout 2 bash -c '</dev/tcp/localhost/6333' || exit 1"]
Issue 2: Alembic Files Not in Container
Problem: Alembic migrations not running - files missing Root Cause: Dockerfile didn't copy alembic files Solution: Updated Dockerfile to include alembic.ini and alembic/ directory
Issue 3: Redis Health Check Authentication
Problem: Redis health check failing with auth error Root Cause: Password not included in health check command Solution: Modified health check to use authenticated ping
