VoiceAssist V2 All Phases Summary (Phase 0-15)
This is the V2 16-phase implementation plan for VoiceAssist. Each phase is a focused unit of work designed for completion in one session (4-10 hours).

- Approach: Compose-first (Phases 0-10), then Kubernetes (Phases 11-14), Final Review (Phase 15)

Phase 0: Project Initialization & Architecture Setup
Duration: 4-6 hours Type: Compose-only
Summary
- Create complete microservices directory structure
- Install Docker Desktop and verify installation
- Create initial architecture documentation
- Set up CURRENT_PHASE.md tracking system
- Initialize Git repository with proper .gitignore
- Create base docker-compose.yml skeleton

Phase 1: Core Infrastructure & Database Setup

- Deploy PostgreSQL with pgvector extension via Docker Compose
- Deploy Redis for caching and session management
- Deploy Qdrant vector database for embeddings
- Create Dockerfiles for all microservices
- Implement database schemas with Alembic migrations

- Configure Docker volumes for data persistence

Phase 2: Security Foundation & Nextcloud Integration
Duration: 6-8 hours Type: Compose-only

- Install Nextcloud in separate Docker Compose stack
- Configure Keycloak for OIDC/OAuth2 authentication
- Implement JWT-based auth service with short-lived tokens
- Create user registration and login via Nextcloud SSO
- Implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) with TOTP
- Set up HTTPS with self-signed certificates (mkcert for dev)
- Build user synchronization service (Nextcloud ↔ PostgreSQL)

Phase 3: API Gateway & Core Microservices
Duration: 6-8 hours Type: Compose-only

- Deploy API Gateway (Kong or Nginx) in Docker Compose
- Create Voice Proxy service skeleton with WebSocket endpoints
- Create Medical KB service skeleton with RAG foundations
- Create Admin API service skeleton with management endpoints
- Register all services in docker-compose.yml
- Deploy Prometheus for metrics collection
- Deploy Grafana with initial dashboards
- Configure service discovery via Compose networking

Phase 4: Advanced Voice Pipeline & Dynamic Conversations
Duration: 8-10 hours Type: Compose-only

- Build React voice client with WebRTC streaming
- Implement Voice Activity Detection (VAD)
- Add echo cancellation (WebRTC AEC) and noise suppression
- Integrate OpenAI Realtime API for voice processing
- Create WebSocket connection manager in Voice Proxy
- Implement conversation context and memory management
- Build dynamic clarification system (e.g., ask specifics for "kidney disease")
- Add barge-in support for natural turn-taking
- Persist conversations to PostgreSQL

Phase 5: Medical Knowledge Base & RAG System

- Integrate PubMedBERT for enhanced medical NLP

- Implement comprehensive audit logging for all data access

Phase 12: High Availability & Disaster Recovery

Phase 14: Production Deployment
